Flash Video for iPad and iPhone

For years feuding media giants Adobe and Apple have made it impossible to watch Flash Video on iPads/iPods, which has been frustrating for users and developers alike. Take One's hosting environment recently upgraded to the latest version of Flash Media Server which finally allows iPads/iPods to view Flash Video. But some say in the next year or so Flash Video will be replaced by HTML5 video. Adobe recently announced that they will no longer continue to "adapt Flash Player for mobile devices to new browser, OS version or device configurations," instead focusing on alternative application packaging programs and the HTML5 protocol. HTML5 is a set of web standards being developed by the Web Hypertext Application Technology Working Group. The HTML5 standard includes many new features for more dynamic web applications and interfaces. One such component being specified and implemented is the video element.

Why should you care? Using a Javascript Library for HTML5 video, your videos can be played back on the latest mobile devices and even on older browsers that require Flash. But it is taking some time for developers to catch on.
