Johns Hopkins University
To help Johns Hopkins University illustrate the passion of its faculty, staff, and students — and to dispel the prevailing image of JHU as “stodgy” — the University’s in-house production team called on Take One to shoot this intriguing 30-second recruitment spot.
The spot juxtaposes a passionate student (who is also the 2006 International Jump Rope Champion) alongside the University’s equally passionate 2003 Nobel Prize winner in chemistry.
No stranger to passion ourselves, we were pleased to shoot the spot in the hi-def DVCPRO HD format. We then finished the University’s off-line edit on our Avid Adrenaline DNxHD system, resulting in an extremely effective joint production designed to air on ESPN-U and in regional broadcast markets.
(At the end of this clip we’ve appended a fun 1-minute time lapse video of the spot’s 10-hour production day, demonstrating how a typical video shoot progresses from set-up to shooting to wrap.)
