Take One Earns Accolades for Non-Profit Productions

Annapolis, MD – March 3, 2011

Take One Digital Media is getting a lot of attention this month for its production work for some local non-profit organizations. For the past four years the company has produced marketing viral video for Special Olympics Maryland’s massive fundraiser, the MSP Polar Bear Plunge. This year their video “On This One Day” earned the company a 2011 Telly Award. Our crew spent two production days in the field with the Baltimore Ravens’ QB Joe Flacco, retired Raven Mike McCrary, US Olympic skater Kimmie Meissner, the Bayhawks lacrosse team, and countless Special Olympics athletes and Plunge Nation supporters. The video not only helped Special Olympics Maryland reach their 3 million dollar fundraising goal but also received industry accolades with the Telly Award. The Telly Awards honor the very best local, regional, and cable television commercials and programs, as well as the finest video and film productions, and work created for the Web. The 32nd Annual Telly Awards received over 15,000 entries from all 50 states and 5 continents. You can view the video here.-->

Take One also spent a great deal of time working with the Annapolis Light House Homeless Prevention and Support Center in the early part of 2011. The organization hired the team to conceptualize, write, and ultimately produce a video that would speak to potential donors in the community. The shelter relies heavily on donors to keep its new 24,000 sq. ft. building open and serving the area’s homeless population. The result is an eye opening view of the current local homeless situation and the high level of support and assistance the new shelter now offers. The piece premiered at the Rotary Club of Annapolis’ Black Tie and Diamonds benefit March 5th to rave reviews. View the piece here

This kind of work, much of it at pro bono or discounted rates, has also earned Take One recognition with the Chesapeake Regional Tech Council for its Good Chip Award. Take One is a finalist in the award category for its work in the community with non-profits. The Good Chip Award recognizes companies that are working to better the community, either through the technology it is developing or through community service and donations.
